WHERE’S THE OAK?
Is that a varietal? What’s the difference between Fumé
Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc?
These are just some
of the questions we’ve heard from
many of our loyal friends and customers.
In short, Fumé Blanc is Sauvignon Blanc. There really is
no difference. It’s just a fancy name.
However, as simple as that seems, there still seems to
be a plethora of different ways to answer the same
question. That’s why we’re setting out on an ambitious
mission to help educate wine lovers about what Fumé
Blanc is and is not. Ultimately, we want people to have
a clear picture of Fumé Blanc – so that the next time
someone is considering a wine purchase they realize that
Fumé Blanc is, in fact, Sauvignon Blanc. |
